The Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, Ziyad al-Nakhala, said the siege imposed on Gaza is a crime and an open war that is being waged against Palestinian people, stressing that this crime must end for no pay and without pledges or concessions.
“Ending the siege on Gaza Strip is not a favor from anyone, nor is it a matter subject to negotiation, political blackmail nor concessions.” Al-Nakhala said on Tuesday during a ceremony held by the movement marking the assassination anniversary of the movement’s founder, Fathi al-Shaqaqi.
“If we are serious about ending the siege, everything must be dependent on that. We have to link settlements’ stability with ending the siege on Gaza Strip, and this is the least we can do, otherwise the blockade will remain.”
Al-Nakhaleh reiterated his call to halt Israeli incursion and land confiscation through settlements and to end violations in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He also urged to stop the killing of Palestinian people in Jerusalem and the cities of the West Bank and to put an end to the oppression of Palestinians inside the Palestinian interior occupied in 1948.
He further affirmed “we must strengthen the resistance and its unity throughout Palestine. Either we fight for our rights and our homeland, or we remain slaves and available manpower serving the enemy and serving the continuation of our occupation.”
Al-Nakhaleh reiterated his firm support for prisoners, adding “Our most important duty, which is on our permanent agenda, is liberating them [prisoners] from captivity.”
