Saied, Bouden Discuss Social Pact Signed by Government, UGTT and UTICA

Tunisian President Kais Saied met Prime Minister Najla Bouden, on Monday at Carthage Palace.

The meeting tackled issues related to public utilities, as well as the social pact signed by the government, the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA).

Saied was quoted as saying in a Presidency statement solutions cannot be sector-based “they must be part of a thorough and national framework that takes into account the legitimate claims of Tunisians”.

PM Najla Bouden, Secretary General of the UGTT Noureddine Tabboubi and UTICA President Samir Majoul signed a social pact on August 12.

This pact will help tackle the exceptional social, economic and financial challenges and strengthen the national sovereignty and the independence of the national decision, the Prime Ministry said.
