Chinese authorities are ready to provide support to Russia for resolution of key issues regarding protection of sovereignty and national security, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin Wednesday.
“China is ready for a closer strategic interaction with Russia, ready to provide mutual support with consideration of key interests of both sides regarding sovereignty and national security,” Xi Jinping said, according to CCTV.
Xi Jinping noted that the Chinese-Russian relations continue to develop successfully, despite the various changes on the global arena.
“We are ready to ramp up our contacts on such important international and regional platforms as the UN, BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,” he added.
According to the Chinese leader, Beijing plans to facilitate progress of the developing countries together with Russia.
“China seeks to strengthen solidarity, to establish a fairer and rational world order,” Xi Jinping said.
