Mikati Hopes the New Parliament Meets the Aspirations of the Lebanese People

Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati inspected the progress of the electoral process and visited the elections operations room at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, hoping that “the new parliament will meet the aspirations of the Lebanese and that we would reach recovery”.

Speaking to reporters during his visit on Sunday, Mikati “everyone who worked to make the electoral process a success in all countries of the world”.

He also thanked all voters abroad who “confirmed their belonging to their country,” adding, “We also thank the countries hosting the Lebanese expatriates.”

“Our meeting will be renewed on May 15 to be with you from the Ministry of Interior, and we hope that the new parliament will meet the aspirations of the Lebanese and that we would reach recovery,” he said, praising the continuous follow-up by those concerned to ensure the transparency and integrity of the parliamentary elections.

Mikati continued to express “all confidence in the Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs,” adding that “the government’s solidarity is very high among all ministers,” and hoping that the status of expatriates’ elections will be totally improved in the next stage, “because the voice of the Lebanese Diaspora is very important”.
