35,000 Palestinian worshipers performed Friday prayer in the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem amid strict measures.
This came following Palestinian calls to intensify Palestinian presence in the holy site this Friday.
During the Friday sermon, the preacher of the Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ikrema Sabri said that the Palestinian presence at al-Aqsa is a direct message to confirm the holy site’s Islamic identity.
He further called on Palestinians in the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem, and within the Green Line to intensify presence at the holy shrine.
Earlier in the morning, thousands performed dawn prayer at the holy site despite Israeli restrictions.
Since the early hours of dawn, hundreds of Palestinians gathered at the gates of Al-Aqsa to pray, confirming the Palestinians’ spiritual links to the holy site.
Also in al-Khalil, Hebron, hundreds of Palestinians, including families, performed the dawn prayers in the Ibrahimi Mosque.
Hamas Movement earlier called for intensifying presence at Palestinian holy sites in response to the Israeli systematic Judaization policy.
