Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi announced on Monday the start of the new school year, referring to long-term plans for the reconstruction of Iraq.
“I am happy to be among the students on the first day of the school year,” al-Kadhimi said during his visit to Al Aqeeda high School in Baghdad.
He addressed the students saying, “You are our future and Iraq is flourishing and evolving with you.
“Don’t listen to anyone who tries to plant in your minds the ideas of sectarianism and racism, and don’t listen to those who try to divide you and hold on to your Iraqi identity,” he said
“Iraq is on the right track with you and your families, today we have drawn up long-term plans for the reconstruction of Iraq, and Allah willing we will overcome all the challenges,” he said.
The premier continued “the future is before you and cooperate with your families and with your teachers, Iraq deserves you to learn and excel, you are the future, with you our country rises.”
